I learned a lot from my first adventure into live automated trading. The #1 thing learned is you must have faith in your bot. Draw downs happen, and you must give your program time to work its way out of these draw down periods. The second thing I learned is to never modify your live trading strategy. If you are going to make modifications to your strategy, then you should consider that a NEW strategy and you should begin forward testing that strategy on a sim account before making it your live strategy. Several times I modified my real money strategy on the fly only to see disastrous results.

Hopefully these learned lessons will help me as I move forward with going live for a second time. However, before going live this time I am testing several new strategies as well as my old strategy very thoroughly before picking the one I will go live with.
